Electromagnetic radiation from stars can be described by waves, with c=fλc = f\lambdac=fλ, or by photons, with E=hfE = hfE=hf. Combining the two gives E=hcλE = \frac{hc}{\lambda}E=λhc, so shorter wavelengths mean more energetic photons.
