Flux, flux linkage, and what induction means

Flux, flux linkage, and what induction means

Rectangular loop in a magnetic field with the area normal, angle to the field, and the cases of maximum and zero magnetic flux labelled

Electromagnetic induction is the production of an emf when magnetic flux linkage changes. That change can come from changing the field strength, the coil area, the coil angle, or the coil's position.

Step-by-step lessons covering Eduqas A Level Physics Electromagnetic Induction for A Level Physics. Each lesson works through exam-style questions in Component 1, Component 2 and Component 3 format. Physics is one of the most mathematically demanding A Levels -- a minimum of 40% of the marks require maths skills at Level 2 (GCSE) standard or above, so build calculation and graph-handling fluency alongside the conceptual content from the start.
