Why can speed not replace velocity in a vector calculation?
If AAA and BBB have position vectors a\mathbf{a}a and b\mathbf{b}b, then AB→=b−a\boxed{\overrightarrow{AB}=\mathbf{b}-\mathbf{a}}AB=b−a.
Speed loses the velocity's direction.
For constant acceleration, displacement using initial and final velocities is s=12(u+v)t\boxed{\mathbf{s}=\frac{1}{2}(\mathbf{u}+\mathbf{v})t}s=21(u+v)t.
For constant acceleration, final velocity is given by v=u+at\boxed{\mathbf{v}=\mathbf{u}+\mathbf{a}t}v=u+at.
