What determines the value of a random variable?

A

A probability distribution describes the possible values and how likely they are.

B

A random variable has a value determined by the outcome of a random process.

C

In normal-distribution notation X∼N(μ,σ2)X \sim \mathrm{N}(\mu,\sigma^2)X∼N(μ,σ2), the second parameter is the variance, not the standard deviation.

D

Success means the outcome being counted; it need not be desirable.
