Correlation

What is bivariate data?

A

Data involving two variables measured in pairs.

B

The correlation is very weak, meaning there is no clear linear pattern to model.

It can distort the gradient/intercept or make the line unreliable for predictions.

  • Positive: as one variable increases, the other tends to increase.
  • Negative: as one variable increases, the other tends to decrease.
