Variable Acceleration

Why can SUVAT formulae not be used for variable acceleration?

A

Integrate acceleration with respect to time:

  • v=∫a dtv = \int a , dtv=∫adt
  • Include a constant of integration (+C+C+C)

Formulae are only valid within their specified time intervals.

SUVAT only applies when acceleration is constant.
