Further kinematics describes motion in a plane using unit vectors i\mathbf{i}i and j\mathbf{j}j. In many questions i\mathbf{i}i is east and j\mathbf{j}j is north, so 3i−4j3\mathbf{i}-4\mathbf{j}3i−4j means 3 units east and 4 units south.
