What does log⁡ax=b\log_a x=blogax=b tell you in exponential form?

A

The product law is log⁡a(xy)=\log_a(xy)=loga(xy)= log⁡ax+log⁡ay\log_a x+\log_a ylogax+logay, while the quotient law is log⁡a(xy)=\log_a\left(\frac{x}{y}\right)=loga(yx)= log⁡ax−log⁡ay\boxed{\log_a x-\log_a y}logax−logay.

B
  • a>0a>0a>0
  • a≠1a\neq1a=1
  • x>0x>0x>0
C

ab=xa^b=xab=x

D

The power law gives log⁡a(xk)=\log_a(x^k)=loga(xk)= klog⁡axk\log_a xklogax, so a coefficient moved inside becomes an exponent.
