What weak really means
What weak really means
A weak acid only partially dissociates in water, so an equilibrium is set up: HA(aq)⇌H+(aq)+A−(aq)HA(aq) \rightleftharpoons H^+(aq) + A^-(aq)HA(aq)⇌H+(aq)+A−(aq). At equilibrium, most particles are still HAHAHA, so a weak acid of a given concentration produces fewer hydrogen ions than a strong acid of the same concentration.
