Forces between molecules

Forces between molecules

Simple molecular substances are made of separate molecules. Strong covalent bonds hold atoms together within each molecule, while much weaker intermolecular forces act between neighbouring molecules. Intermolecular forces are not the same as covalent, ionic, or metallic bonding.
