An investigator is given two unknown aqueous solutions, X and Y, each containing a different transition metal salt.

The investigator performs a series of chemical tests on both solutions. The observations are recorded in Table 1.

  • Write ionic equations (including state symbols) for all precipitation and gas-producing reactions.
