An investigation was carried out into the effect of light intensity on the concentrations of ribulose bisphosphate (RuBP) and glycerate 3-phosphate (GP) present in single-celled algae.
The algae were initially grown under constant, high light intensity. At t=2 minutest = 2\text{ minutes}t=2 minutes, the light was switched off completely. The concentrations of RuBP and GP were measured throughout the experiment.
The results are described below:
Describe and explain the effect of switching off the light on the concentrations of GP and RuBP in the algae.
