ATP, redox and the big picture
ATP, redox and the big picture
Respiration is the enzyme-controlled release of energy from respiratory substrates in cells, with energy transferred to ATP. Glucose is the usual substrate, but lipids and amino acids can also feed into respiration.
Step-by-step lessons covering AQA A Level Biology Respiration (A-level only) for A Level Biology. Each lesson works through exam-style questions in Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3 format. Build a strong foundation in cell biology and biochemistry early on, since later topics on genetics, ecology and physiology all draw on these core concepts.
